Hello.

I am having some problems with my laptop. The other day as i was surfing the net vertical lines appeared on the screen then it crashed and sometimes it continues crashing minutes after starting it.

A blue screen with all sorts written on it appears.Sometimes i use it for even half an hour and it doesn't crash or give me lines.

Also,it says on one of the blue screens

''Hardware malfuction
NMI: Parity check/Memory,parity error
The system has haulted''

Can this be fixed or do i need a new laptop??

Thanks in advance.

The message is relating to your main memory in the laptop.
Parity is an extra checking mode for memory addresses, and correction.

If you have EEC memory with parity checking it can be a sign that a part of the memory is not working as expected.

In the bios of the laptop though you may have an option to turn off EEC parity checking.
By disabling that option it can stop the halt errors and crashing.
