Lately i have noticed that my games are outputting flickering shadows. In some games like Borderlands for example the shadows on the character look choppy and they flicker. The worse case scenarios would be these:

Fable 3:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Csqi_Wudo9U&list=UU-lzSe-9FD9loP5J0AV-oTA (flickering shdow on floor with lines)

Gothic 4: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kaQxg0UVI_k&list=UU-lzSe-9FD9loP5J0AV-oTA (flickering artefacts with lines on the shoreline)

Black ops: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6K-pn5ydjMg&list=UU-lzSe-9FD9loP5J0AV-oTA ( lines in the puddle at beginning and in the trees at the end)

I would recommend watching these videos in HD to see the problem more clearer.

The effect present looks the same across both Call of Duty and Fable

Does anybody know how to fix this?

Specs:

Radeon 7970 Catalyst 14.7 beta (problem didn't change with different driver)

FX 8350

16GB Ram

Sabertooth 990fx rev 2.0

No overclocking whatsoever other than turbo core.

Also my other pc that uses a 5850 with a q6600 also developed this problem in the past and i couldn't get a fix for that either.

Thank you

The way you did the drivers is fine. I'd check different video options and a few more driver versions before calling anything an issue with the card.

You can also check support for the video card vendor, specialized support like that is a lot better to contact for issues like this. They know how the hardware works better than probalby anyone on these forums.

I was using the official 14.4 drivers to begin with when I first noticed the errors. I then did a driver sweep reinstalled those drivers and encountered the same visual problem. I thought that the drivers where perhaps conflicting wit the old one perhaps? Upon loading CCC after the reinstall i would also get a CCC.implementation error thus I had to sort that problem, which I fixed by uninstalling .NetFramework 4.5 reinstalling and installing the new beta drivers over the 14.4 drivers i had installed previously.
What would be your definitive way of reinstalling old drivers in the cleanest way possible? The last time I removed drivers i uninstalled the display driver from the catalyst uninstall manager leaving everything else unchecked like SDK runtime and chipset drivers and such. I then booted into safe mode and cleaned out the display driver with driver sweeper. I then booted into normal mode installed new drivers and still faced my usual graphic issues.
I checked the official AMD method of removing video card drivers but there method consisted of express uninstalling all AMD software via the AMD uninstall manager, I thought that includes important motherboard chipset drivers so I didn't follow that method.
Do you think it could be a hardware problem?
Thanks again, i appreciate this.
