Hey guys, what's up
my DVI I to VGA adapter just arrived this morning so i plugged it in along with my other DVI D to VGA Adapter but i have no signal on my DVI I to VGA side, It might be the adapter but, Can someone help me to fix this or tell me its the adapter that's not working :) GPU : MSI radeon R9 270X HAWK 2GB GDDR5 OC

If you have two Dvi ports on the graphics card.
One Dvi can be set for digital only and the other can be a mix od Digital or analog.

You cannot put a Analog adapter to a Dvi port on the card that is pinned out for digital.

So its a case of swapping cables to Dvi ports.

Right the top dvi port on the card one with just a thin flat pin is for a digital only Dvi connector.
So it must be connected to a Digital Dvi port on the monitor. it cannot be crossed over with another adapter on the other end of the cable if it is an analog dvi based adapter.

The port bellow with the one flat pin and four smaller pins around it is a combo you can use digital or an analog adapter with
it if the other end of the cable is a 15pin Dsub you use this one for analog.
Top digital only Dvi-D to Dvi-D adapter or/monitor input
Bottom either Digital or analog must use the right adapter.

Falt pin on adapter is digital only.
Four pins and a flat one Analog for a 15pin dsub. Or a digtal adapter to a digital Dvi input on the monitor.

In other words you need to look at both adapters to see what they are depending on the input type of the monitor.

On the adapter the one with the four pins is analog, and can if the monitor has a 15pin Dsub you connect the adapter to this cable.

The other is plain and simple Dvi adapter with a Flat pin to dvi top port 1.
To Dvi of monitor.

Oh dear I suspected you were going to say that.
No dice then.
Going to have to buy a monitor with a digital Dvi-D input. or Dvi-I then.

Like I said you cannot cross a digital Dvi-D over to a Vga analog it simply wont work, you just get no signal message or a black screen.

Sorry Eddie.
