Okay so right now my current setup is just time warner cable with a set-top box at my main tv in the living room. We have 3 other tvs in other rooms that dont have a set-top box, just regular cable. What I want to do is have an htpc to replace my set-top box in my living room so I dont need to pay for the box and whatever else I don't need but still watch live tv, record, rewind, etc. at that tv and all of my other tvs. The number of tvs that could be running at one time is 3 but I have 4 total.

So by the research I have done this is what I think I need:

HTPC at main tv with ceton infinitv tuner
CableCard
Ceton echo windows media center extenders/xbox 360 (at one tv since i already have one) at the other 2 tvs

Is this what I need to get what I want? Please give me suggestions and ask questions if I need to clarify. A bit new to HTPCs and cutting the cord. What do I still need to pay for and what can I drop? Thanks in advance!

I don't have cable service at all. I pull all my channels OTA through an antenna. The tuner cards I use don't use a cable card, they plug directly to the antenna through a coax cable. All you'll have to do is replace your set-top box with a cable card that will likely be rented from your cable company. You'll need a tuner card to put the cable card into like the one I linked to above. Then you use extenders to send signal to your other TVs.
You need to stop "bumping" your thread. It's clearly stated that it's against the forum rules in the Read First: Forum Rules & Styling Posts sticky at the top of the forum.

Yes, you can accomplish what you want to by having a PC with a cable card compatible tuner card and a cable card to replace your main set-top box. You can then use whatever type of Media Center extender you would like for the rest of your TVs. An Xbox 360 works just fine. I'm currently using my PC with tuner cards to capture OTA content and an Xbox 360 in my living room as an extender. It works great.

Okay I'm sorry and thanks for the help. Since you are only getting OTA from your cable card and not getting all the cable channels; do you only have a tuner and cable but no cord what so ever?
