Hello there,

I have this wierd problem where if I turn on Windows XP SP2 and plug in my WiFi Adapter, it just shows a blue screen of death for a split second and then restarts it self. This happens indefinately andwill keep kappening until I take out the Adapter. I tried this on three different machines all running XP SP2 to find out if it's a universal problem or a problem with my current computers' hardware, but the same thing happens on all three machines. Blue screen of death and restarts itself until Adapter is unplugged. Somehow, the computer froze at the blue screen one time so I managed to write down the information from it.

"..."

The problem seems to be caused by the following files: usbhub.sys

PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

"..."

Technical information:

*** STOP: 0x00000050 (0xE2C1B000, 0x00000001, 0xBA171050, 0x00000001)

*** usbhub.sys - Address BA171050 base at BA168000, DateStamp 41107d68

"..."

I have tried plugging in the Adapter on another system, such as Linux Mint 17. It worked fine without crahsing the system and providing internet connection. (I am sure it worked as the Adapter started to get warm, where it would be cold if I plugged it in on Windows)

If anyone knows any way to solve this, such as downloadingadditional drivers or changing someconfig files, I would be really greatful.

Thanks,
DronesClean

I ran into a similar situation years ago but it only happened with adapters with class N ability. Switching to a b/g adapter there was no problem.
The same class N adapters worked fine on my test boxes and all my laptops (vista,7, & 8) in their stores but since they only had g routers I didnt investigate further. Good luck.

So I just buy another adapter? Which one would you reccomend?
