My newer version is 12V 1.5A positive center. The older version listed on Seagate's site is 12V 2.0A.
If you get a newer unit, I suggest obtaining their warranty for replacing or even salvaging your data if anything goes wrong.
In the past year I have lost a lot of info due to only having 1 backup, and having 2 events happen too close together. I am not keen on using the cloud as a backup. Prefer the physical units, as it can get costly if you have TB's of data to upload which takes longer than downloading and costs more in data fees.
