Hey there,

I have a very quick question (more just want to confirm what i researched).

My motherboard is: ASRock Z77 Extreme4

and I currently have 2x 8GB corsair ram sticks (in bay 1 and 3). (CML16GX3M2A1600C10)

Can I buy another 2x 8GB rams (CML16GX3M2A1600C10), and just stick them in bays 2 and 4 to upgrade to 32 GB?

I wanted to check with someone before i bought the kit - why isnt this ram listed in the 'supported ram list'?

Thank you :)

(I'm ususally sitting at 12-15 GB ram usage so its time for an upgrade )

Best bet is to get a single package of 32GB and sell the old to recoup some of the expense (or put old into another rig. Any time you mix sets, even 2 of the same exact model it can be and often is problematic. Often sets can be coaxed to play with minor voltage and/or timing adjustments but no guarantees and it can be much harder with high freq sticks and large amounts of DRAM (like 32GB)

You can, and I'm pretty sure they'd work together just fine. But there is the odd chance that since the sticks aren't matched together, they might not, but this can easily be solved with a bit loser timings.

But in all honesty, I'm 90% sure they'll work out of the box as is.

I just assumed it would be better to keep all the RAM sticks the same brand/make etc

Or could anyone suggest a better alternative to upgrade to 32gb?
