What does AM3+ Mean

Hey guys so basically i am new to all of the computer building thing and i just want to ask lots of question to make sure i understand everything. Please help me
So Basically i am wondering what does the AM3+ mean on AMD motherboards and CPU's?
Because it is on the AMD 6300 and i dont know what it means

Ok so basically the AM3+ is the socket type for the Motherboard and the CPU if you have a CPU with the Am3+ Socket you will need to find the correct motherboard with the same Socket (AM3+) Hope this explains it well enough for you :)
