hello.so currently on my build i have 1 4gb stick that is clocked to 1600mhz.and i want to increase my ram.if i buy a 8gb stick that is clocked to 1600mhz will i have trouble?i am asking becuase the 2 sticks have different memory sizes and i am wondering if it will cause any trouble mixing a 4gb stick with a 8gb stick (both at same clock speed).
P.S my mobo can support max 64gb of ram and max 2400mhz . also it has only 2 slots so thats why i wanna put an 8gb stick.so i can have in total 12gb

hm...then i think i will just buy another 4gb stick.cuz i also checked the prices for 8gb 1600mhz and its very expensive.so i will just buy another 4gb stick of 1600 and i will have in total 8gb.its enough i believe.(i use my pc mostly for gaming.).also in the future if i begin to make games(i have been thinking of it for quite a while to start learning) with some kind of engine will 8gb be enough?(i hope so lol.)

Some motherboards are picky as to which stick is in the first slot vs second slot. Check your motherboard documentation to see if there are any restrictions (i.e. largest stick(s) in first slot) . If you have 4 memory slots, it may be that one stick will go in one pair of slots and the other stick in the other pair.
