Best channel for 5ghz

I have my 5ghz n network setup in my home with channel 149 with 40 Mhz. Thing is I hear 161 is the best one. Should I change it or leave it as is?

The "best channel" is whichever nobody else is on and that will vary depending on location and neighborhood.

If your neighborhood has no vacant 5G-band channel, then the best channel is whichever has the lowest noise floor or in other words, weakest interference from other devices and noise sources.

I get from my 5ghz router that I strive to make it as low as I can. As it was hindering with my 5.8Ghz cordless phones. Channels 150 and higher are around this range. I try to keep on manual with around 44.
