Ok, make sure your speaker settings are exact to this image. Scroll down a bit and you will see the image and the legend to tell whats what. Make sure your speakers are connected the way it shows in the picture. Then once everything is hooked up, let me know if the problem is still there.

*Note* If you don't have an HD setup, this can prove problematic.

Also, your audio system has 3 plugs coming off of it to plug into your computer:

Black is for your Rear Speakers
Orange is for your Center/Subwoofer
Green is for your Front

If your computer only has Green/Pink/Blue you may not be able to use this system to its...

Ok so help me get some info right quick. How does your speaker system connect to itself and to the computer?

Does it Connect from Speaker to speaker to the back of the Sub-woofer and then through a Black/Orange/Green 3.5mm to the back of your computer? Or is it another way?

Well. The blue jack in a standard setup is actually an Line In jack. Meaning it can be anything audio. There may be a setting to where it's not set to act as a rear speaker whether it's in the driver program, or if the sound itself is set to 5.1 in windows. If you don't have it set to 5.1 in windows, that blue speaker will not be recognized as a rear speaker, instead it will be a sub or another stereo out port.

Your computer should have an audio driver whether it's realtek or creative. Or if you don't no problem. But when you find what your audio driver is, be sure to select 5.1 audio. It should fix that issue with the blue acting as a line out and act as a rear speaker out.

Let me know what happens.

Well under "Speakers" you should see "Speaker Configuration", change it from "5.1" to "Stereo" or "2.1". Then once applied, there should be a check box near the bottom of that window that says "Virtual Surround" or something similar. Check that box and then apply.

The reason why I'm asking to do this is because you do not have onboard 8 channel (Real Surround Sound) HD Audio. You just have the standard Green/Pink/Blue. When you have 8 Channel, you have Green/Pink/Blue/Black/Orange/Grey. Those additional 3 ports are for your Sub-woofer, Center Speaker, and Rear Speakers. So your 5.1 might just have to be "Simulated".

Let me know if that worked.

Hmm. I remember when I had my 5.1, there was a button on the volume switch of the system that forced surround sound while the computer was at a 2.1 setup. I have no idea if yours has that or not, but let me know.

Also, your audio system has 3 plugs coming off of it to plug into your computer:

Black is for your Rear Speakers
Orange is for your Center/Subwoofer
Green is for your Front

If your computer only has Green/Pink/Blue you may not be able to use this system to its full potential because of the lack of ports.

Green - Audio
Pink - Microphone
Blue - Line-in (Extra Audio that may not work for Rear Speaker Setup)

In order for this sound system to work flawlessly with your computer you need to plug in the cords like so:

Black -> Black
Orange -> Orange
Green -> Green

This below will not work properly:

Green -> Green
Orange -> Pink
Black -> Blue

If I'm not mistaken, that's what you said you are currently connected like. That pink is a Microphone jack. And the blue is the audio.

If your Realtek can emulate and change the jacks, this can work, but you will be without a microphone unless you hook in through USB.

For your Realtek settings, I need you to change the following (or see if you can):

Change Blue from Line-In(Default) to Rear Speakers
Change Pink from Microphone(Default) to Center/Subwoofer
Leave green as Stereo.

IF you can change these, it might just work. If you can't, and you do NOT have dedicated Black and Orange ports, you may have to get a sound card that does, or you can only use the stereo system as a 2.1 instead of a 5.1.

Let me know what you find.
