**EDIT**
Found the problem it was the CPU the pins weren't in the sockets perfectly so I had to take it out and align all the pins and voila it booted the BIOS right away I also had to make sure the GPU was fully seated but I do appreciate all the help that was provided you guys are the best! thanks

I cant get my PC to boot off of my bootable usb with windows 8.1
I started this build yesterday and dont know what to do now cause I put everything together and seeing as how I dont have a usable optical drive to read my Win8.1 disc I tried using a usb version with an iso file on it and I dont think I'm getting power to the usb ports not even the ones on the mobo and I know that the computer should boot up theBIOS for the mobo without anything else which makes me think its the GPU but I dont really know what I'm doing so I need all the help I can get heres the specs
CPU- AMD FX 8320
MOBO- Gigabyte 970A-D3P
PSU- Corsair CX750
Ram- Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB (2x8GB) bus speed 1866
GPU- HP NVIDIA GT210 512MB GDDR2 SDRAM PCI E

If you're trying to do your first boot, disconnect any hard drives, SSDs, and GPU. Then start it up. If it gets to the BIOS, which it should, reorder your boot priorities so that it looks for a bootable USB first. Then power it down, connect your designated boot drive, restart and load windows. Then install your basic drivers and update your BIOS before adding anything else.

I dont have a video chipset on my mobo so would I have to keep the GPU installed?

And also would my GPU need drivers to work with my mobo or should it just work with it already?

You had to use microsofts program (blanking on the name of it) to put a bootable copy on it. You cant just put the iso on a usb. If you didnt do this, that is your probelm. If you did, then it is something else and I failed you.

Edit: The program is just called Windows USB DVD Download Tool

Okay so I did unplug all my hard drives and ssd's but I still cant get it to boot the BIOS screen nor am i getting usb power on the back of the mobo still

There are still quite a number of possibilities as to what's causing the problem, but the big question mark does seem to be the GPU. Can you find any identifying marks on it? Maybe someone will recognize it if you post a picture of it.

Do you have access to a different GPU that you can try?
