How do I add a VGA monitor to a computer that already has two DVI monitors? I want to add a Dell monitor (it's VGA circa 2005) to my computer. My graphics card has the 2 DVI female ends (that are currently being used by my two existing monitors), 1 display port, and 1 HDMI. My Motherboard has D-Sub +DVI, 1 HDMI, and 1 VGA. Also, my CPU claims it can support three monitors. Any ideas on how I can hook up this third monitor? Thanks.

From what I understand, you want to add third monitor to existing two. Your motherboard VGA connection gets disabled because you have add-on graphics adapter (feedeing your other two monitors).

The easiest solution would be to get either another cheap video controller (check what slots you have avaialbe), or USB-to-VGA adapter.

I have a few questions about your answer. First, should it be a a DVI-D to VGA since the ports on my computer are all DVI-D? I would have imagined the adapter would have to be DVI-I or some other DVI that has the four analog pins on it? Am I wrong about that? Second, I have a VGA port on my motherboard but the monitor doesn't work on it. Is that normal? Third, If two of the monitors and hooked up to the graphics card and the third is hooked up to the motherboard, would that cause any problems? Thank you for answering my questions in advance. I have a lot.
