I have a pretty bad problem with the compass in skyrim. every time I move the camera the outlines on the compass turn a dark red color. What would be the problem?

Yes I have just updated my gtx 760 graphics drivers a few days ago. I have some texture mods such as amidian born and hd 2k textures but that is all. I will go verify the integrity though.

Overclocking a GPU can cause that. Before I upgraded, I had a 6670 I would OC and if I pushed it too hard it would start with red lines or blocking.

If overclocking, try playing w/out the OC.

Try installing and enabling Gopher's IHud mod. Fixed ? Try reinstalling the game. Not fixed ?
Try reinstalling the game.

If problem persists on a clean install with no mods, potentially a driver issue/conflict with Skyrim. If same thing occurs on other games or watching video, likely a hardware issue.

I had a flat screen TV that started doing that before it failed. The convergence was off. Google "convergence". It did it on more than one application though.

I would highly recommend you check out the nexus forums for Skyrim only problems. If you are new to it, highly suggest you google "Gopher Skyrim Mod Sanctuary". He has a beginner's guide of videos on YouTube that will help you eliminate 95% of potential problems.

This may help. I have not overclocked my GPU yet. I do have gophers ihud installed. I will probably uninstall the game and uninstall all of my mods and install S.T.E.P. I will definitely Google convergence since i am using a 28
inch HD T.V. But i am not new to modding and i have watched all of gophers videos and none point to the problem.

I would check to see if the problem occurs before SKSE or STEP. Clean launch from Steam with no mods.
Then proceed with STEP and make sure to check at the "benchmarks" to see when problem appears.

If it's only a spot in one area it could be a mesh or texture from one mod. I had that happen in Solitude in the "food court" corner. Was a conflict with Open Cities and Docks.

Some manufacturers have a guide to correcting your convergence in the appropriate service manuals for that model number. As well as troubleshooting. it could be a lamp or a bulb as well. You usually adjust in "service mode" via remote control.

I was able to correct it, but it went back out about 6 months later. You may want to plan on a new TV down the road.

Get the make and model # of your TV, then you should be able to search and find the service manual...not the "owner's" manual. I had to buy a pdf download for mine, but it was only $6 or $7.
