I have recently setup a remote desktop since I am going on a trip and I want to still want be able to access my computer. I found a good remote desktop program (team viewer 9) and I can lock unlock reboot and sleep but I can not wake my computer since my PC does not have WOL. So my question is if I can set up a task scheduler trigger or some how set it up so I can send a email to wake my computer. If there is any other way (beside WOL) to wake my computer over the internet in a different state.

Thanks for all the help in advance.

It would probably be best to have your network stay on 24/7. Go to device settings, choose your network card, and you will probably have a tab for power management. Its probably called energy efficient LAN. You should also have your PC not go into sleep mode as that will also turn off your network card.

Turn off sleep mode, and make sure that energy efficient LAN is turned off as well. Your PC will always be listening for incoming remote connections.
