Either SSD or HDD will work but not both.

I recently got a Samsung 250 gb SSD in addition to my 1 tb HDD for my desktop. I installed windows new on the SSD intending to boot from it however when I try to then put my HDD in as well, my computer will not turn on. The lights on the motherboard come on when it is plugged in, but when I press the power button, the fans and lights come on for a second and then it does nothing and will now power up. Could this be a lack of wattage in PSU (550 W)? Halp.

Mmmm...dont believe this could be a psu issue. So, one or the other no problem, together equals no boot. Interesting, can you move the SATA cables on the MB and if still no boot, try clearing the cmos on the MB.

I will try that. I have windows 8 on the ssd and windows 7 on the HDD, if the cmos reset doesn't do it, might it be the two drives both having windows?
