could i change 1600 ram to 1866?

im using this ram

i was wondering do you think i could change the speed in bios to 1866?is that safe?

i have a 970 extreme 3 rev 2.0
fx 8350

well most ram is overclockable but i hear 1600mhz cant really change. They have some 2400mhz ram for around 78$.

You could. I don't like OCing RAM because it does it's job well and messing with it doesn't do anything for you. Why would you want to? The difference of those speeds are going to be completely negligible in about every application.

not really if he has some haswell chips they work better with faster ram plus faster ram helps when having multiple things open.

If your pc is for gaming, changing the ram speed won't really increase your game performance

You could increase the speed, but you're only going to get like a 2fps increase while playing games. You likely wouldn't even notice a change in other applications as well.

Give it a try, they are strong sticks, try at 1866, 10-10-10-27, 1.575 and raise CPU/NB to about 1.2
