Hello, TH. I plan on purchasing a wireless router soon and I wasn't sure if I would be able to keep my current computer's internet wired while letting other machines (laptop/ps3/wiiu) connect to the internet wirelessly since I came to the conclusion that I'd be unplugging the ethernet cord from my PC and plugging it into said router. I have never set up a wireless network before and any help to ensure my desktop pc has wired connection while having wireless is greatly appreciated. Also if anyone could recommend a good/cheap router for an apartment that would also be awesome.

I'm on Windows 7 Professional.

I'm currently using an Ambit u10c018 modem.

Solution
Just plug your modem into the router and the router into your PC using an Ethernet cable. As for recommendations, I like Buffalo and Asus, and tend to avoid Telewell from personal experience.

Ah, so it was as simple as plugging in a second cable. Now I feel like a fool. Thanks for your help and recommendation. Cheers.
