I'm thinking about these beauty 25-27inch IPS 2k screens. Wondering whether my card would support playing the typical games on it or would I need a another card to run a 2k monitor?

So, if I cannot run 2k monitor, how about a ultra-wide 1080p? Can you open two full documents and webpage on the screen?

Thanks for your input.

2k is doable on a 270x, but is starting to get into the limits of what the GPU can really handle, especially if you're wanting to run at high/ultra settings for stuff.

I don't think ultrawide and 1080p exist in the same sentence. 1080p means 1920x1080 resolution and that doesn't change and it's not ultrawide.

The 270x is a bit better than my 7870, and I can do most games high or high and few ultra details thrown in here and there, except like BF3 I can do full ultra, and some older games. Adding 20-40% more resolution, and thus plxels to draw, is only going to decrease your FPS, a lot quickly.

Thanks for the response guys. So I'm guessing I won't be looking at the 2k after all.

Though, I'm centrally looking for better quality of image and the ability to really put up two full web pages side by side. Is it still possible with a 1080? Would I have more space on a 27" screen compared to a 23" inch screen, or no since its the same # of pixels?

Thanks!

Non gaming you'll be OK with 2K (1440p). But not heavy gaming.

It really depends. If you're in a position where you need to do side-by-side comparisons of websites, though, I'd rather run 2 1080p monitors over a single 2k or 4k monitor simply because it keeps things looking the way the site was probably optimized for, unless they have web devs who do responsive development well.

So if I could only have one screen and lets stay a 1080p. Would I have more screen real-estate on a 27" to a 23"? Or would it be the same just stretched since their both 1080p?

Thanks
