Ok so I just upgraded from a hd6970 to a r9 280x. My other system specs are asus sabertooth motherboard with fx6100 cpu, 8gb ram, 675 watt psu, seagate hybrid 1tb/8gb drive. I have the latest amd catalyst driver. Metro last light is totally unplayable at even low settings with all the other goodies off. My other games all run fine, all the ones I have tried anyway. Im just wondering if anyone else has had this problem with the 280x and Metro, An internet search really didnt give me anything. When I run the benchmark of the game it runs well though which is weird.

try uninstalling all amd software in safe mode with Driversweeper utility. Reboot, and clean install the latest whql driver.

I know its a bit late now, but Install the NVIDIA PhysX software bundle and voila, your game should work seamless. i dont know the exact reason for this but it has something to do with Metro being bad with PhysiX. Hope it helps.
