Ill try to explain the best i can because this is really weird.

So I got a new TV, its a 50" plasma that does 720p, it will accept a 1080p signal though and downmix it to 720p.

My previous TV was a 42" LED so I moved the 42: into the other room and hooked up my new 50"

When i turn on my computer everything is fine durring bootup and when it got to my desktop everything was fine as well, knowing this tv only supports a max of 720p i turned my graphics down to 720p thinking i could save some processing power on my PC by doing this. At this point when i changed it to 720p the TV screen started blinking on and off and the audio would cut out at the same time as well and my speakers began making a popping noise. I changed it back to 1080p and it worked fine, so i tested a few different resolutions that were in the manual for the TV and basically any resolution except 1080 makes the screen start to blink on and off.

it seems like its my TV but i dont know why the problem only exists at lower resolutions

one last thing i tried, i set it to 1080x720 in safe mode and it worked fine

It says the tv has a native res of 768p (which i think is fairly common for 720p marketed televisions). So you should be able to bump of the resolution of your games to at least that much.

But it kinda sounds like the tv is bad. (Or the hdmi port) Im assuming you tried all three hdmis...please.
