I am (attempting to) help my son build a budget friendly gaming rig. I checked specs on these two and they are very similar.
fatality has
1).slightly higher memory speed. 3200 vs 3100 on pro
will this even be noticeable?
2).8 power power phases vs 6 on pro.
What do these do or how does it affect performance.
3). purity sound vs no purity sound on pro
He wears a headset to skype with his buddies. I think this is a non issue. but correct me if I'm wrong.

I am seriously out of the loop on all this stuff. I just don't want to steer him wrong. thanks for any help.

What do the power phases do?
I am just wondering what this really translates to in the end result. Is it worth spending the extra bucks for the fatality board.

Solution
The phases help with overclocking. From my understanding, more phases = less voltages to a similar overclock compared to a board with less phases to keep it stable.

RAM speed, doesn't matter. Chances are you'll be using 1600Mhz Cas9 or something under 2400Mhz.

If you're overclocking, the extra phases would help.

Awesome thanks for the quick reply and simple answer. I am sure overclocking will come sooner or later. I've read so much in the last couple weeks I think my brain is going to explode.

1- you can neglect the RAM speed, 1600 is what you would probably get, even overclocking the RAM will be hard to get to 3000
2-more phases = less heat and better overclocking
3- if it just for skype, I dont think it will make much of a difference.
