Fallout New Vegas Audio and Other Issues

I don't know what happened, or what I did wrong, but all of the radio stations don't play music and some dialog from NPCs are inaudible. To top it off my game crashes EVERY time I exit it, no matter what.

You hear Mr. New Vegas give the news or introduce the song that's about to play, but when its supposed to come on, there's no sound, the in-game ambient soundtrack just plays over the silent radio stations, like Mojave music radio.

I used extra radio station mods so the tracks didn't repeat to much, but those stations stopped working also.

I completely deleted and then re-installed the game from steam and just tried it out with no mods and the stations didn't work right still.

I don't know if anyone else has had this problem because I'm finding zero posts on the Internet about this issue. Please Help:??:

Note: I have the Ultimate Edition, running Windows 7 64 bit. The game used to run fine and it is 100% non-cracked, I bought it from steam and there's a receipt that proves it. Fallout 3 runs fine and has none of the issues listed.

Thanks,
Atomicbiohazard

Verifying the game cache always says "4 files have been lost and will be recovered" and then it downloads for a minute, but it never changes anything.

As for the sound settings, I have everything turned to max in the game settings. I hear the sounds perfectly, including the radio, but only for like 10 seconds....then it just cuts off.

Sorry for the late response.

Yes the vanilla game's sound is failing.

No other game has this problem, including Bethesda games like Fallout 3, and Skyrim.

I've seen the relative posts about the missing or wrong audio codec. I tried to install different codecs but I never knew how to use them or set them up with Fallout: New Vegas. They didn't change anything in-game.

It's really weird because I've never uninstalled or changed my sound settings/driver.
Remember, my game used to work fine, so that' why I have no solutions.

I'll try the mod link you gave me and lowering the audio quality in a little bit. Might re-install a codec too.

Thanks.
