Ram Placement for two different types of ram to create better clearance

So I have two different quad channel ram kits,

- one is corsair vengeance 8gb (4 x 2gb) (with large heatspreaders)

- The other is corsair vengeance LP 8gb (4 x 2gb) (low profile)

*Both are 1600mhz

Does it matter if I move my Low profile cards closer to the heatsink so that I have more clearance? I figure the ram is just about identical so should it matter?

I'm using the ASUS sabertooth x79 board

Mobo specs recommend only using identical ram. So use 2 x 4gb or 4 x 2gb. Not both.

or try it and test it and see what happens, its probably its the same ram in a different heatsink.

So they are different part numbers and as such not identical.

Can try them, at worse they won't play together, might want to raise the DRAM voltage about + 0.075 and the VCCSA to around 1.18

Surprisingly the heatsink was so large that it covered over all 8 of the dimm slots so I had to actually remove the heat spreaders on the tall corsair vengeance
