I have a Acer Aspire S7 laptop which contains a 256GB SSD. Last week My laptop all of a sudden got stuck and i had to format the SSD to address the issue. After this was done my computer specification shows only 128GB hard drive space instead of 256GB what could be the reason for this? Please Help.. is this a hardware failure??

When you formatted you did not merge the partitions and still have the damaged partition most likely. Go to disk management and see if that's the case.

In my disk management setting only 120GB is shown for disk 0. Previosuly before the incident there were two disk disk 0 and disk 1 but now only disk 0 is shown..How can this hapen i mean i only have one 256GB hardrive can the capacity change to 120GB due to some malfunction
