I recently purchased a new motherboard and video card for my system, and was very excited. I set up everything correctly, downloaded some drivers, installed steam and tried playing some MoH multiplayer. It worked great!...For one day... After that i powered down my system and started it back up. Now when i try to start any game (even non steam games) they crash or it's just a black screen with the title ambiance playing. Typically when the game crashes i get this error, "display driver stopped responding and has recovered" I should also note that there is sometimes a chance that i can play a game without it crashing, but that's every once in a long while.

System Specs
=============
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64Bit (freshly installed recently)
Motherboard: MSI A55M-P33 A55 FM1 R
Video Card: MSI R7 250x 1GD5 R
CPU: AMD A6-36020 APU w/ Radeon HD Graphics 2.33 GHz
RAM: 2x Hynix 4GB (model no. HMT351U6BFR8C-H9)
PSU: (I'm not 100% sure) Cooler Master Elite V2 - 550W
=============

Any help is very appreciated!!!! Thanks! -Mike

Have you gone to AMD's website and downloaded the latest drivers?

Card could be defective.
Uninstall the GPU and its drivers completely, then reinstall in Safe Mode.

I can't install AMD's drivers in safe mode. Do you just want me to download the VGA driver that windows gives me in safemode anyways? :UPDATE: I also did that in a previous suggestion i found while googling my problem. The Graphics Card worked fine until i opened a program or something, then it started doing it's normal routine.

That wouldnt allow the card to operate normally.
Take out the card, dust it off with some compressed air, insert, downclock a bit with a program.

Could you maybe recommend any downclocking software? :EDIT: I used MSI Afterburner to downclock and that seemed to fix it. Thanks!

It seems your GPU has a somewhat weak circuitry system on the PCB board.
RMA it if you see fit, I'd certainly hate not being able to OC that card.

Is it possible that my PSU does not have enought wattage? I mean it is only 550.

The standard minimum for R7 250Xs is 400W PSUs.
Your PSU however could be a problem if it's not delivering enough strength to the card.
Replace the PSU by borrowing a better one at a store, and see if it makes a difference.
