Hi I am having trouble with flickering textures and shadows with my 780 Ti.
I am wondering if I need to RMA my graphics card or if it might be my Power Supply.
I recently changed the motherboard and CPU and it has not fixed the problem but fixed my FPS lag. I am still getting slight stuttering that drops me to about 57 FPS on BF4.
If you guys need a video I can do that.

Thanks,
William

I also heard a fairly high pitched whining coming from the graphics card today, but it was only for about 45 seconds. It was a strange noise. I've never heard anything like it.

Try a different monitor.

Try your card in another pc.

I just tried my TV as a monitor and it still flickers ever so slightly. Ill try it in a different computer with a different power supply tomorrow.
I think it might be the game but I'm not sure.

That high pitched sound is coil whine from the fans on your card, which is a sign that the fans could be damaged or just dying for some unknown reason and that means the fans could be under performing thus making your card hot THUS making you card throttle due to thermal issues, also BF4 is know to have a bit of a texture problem but it could also be the VRAM modules on your card because i think your card has been dropped in shipment and the fans have been damaged same as the VRAM modules, i still like BF4 regardless btw, take the previous users advise but this is what i think has happened, check your temps while playing and tell us whats happening, also list your entire build, all the parts and components, include your monitor too.

Or coil whine can be from choke coils on your card pcb that aren't staked to the pcb well enough.

So it sounds like I have a bad card/fan? HW Monitor reports max temp of 77C.

PS. I used Afterburner to change fan speeds a couple times (because it was getting kinda hot, 80C). Can that void my warranty? I never overclocked once.

I have a i7 4970k, stock clock, stock heatsink.
Nvidia 780 Ti, stock clock.
GSKILL DDR3 1866
850W XFX PSU.

nVidia or Asus or EVGA etc?

You can RMA the card just because it's noisy. But that mightn't be causing the flickering.

Try a different monitor.

And try a different card or try yours in another pc.

Them temps sound normal to be honest. Coil whine is fairly common, but you can usually RMA the card because of it - Often it can be the PSU that causes the coil whine though.

PNY is my video card manufacture.

I replaced the motherboard, CPU, and ram recently so its none of those. The only same parts are the video card, hard drive and power supply.
It works a lot better now with these parts but is still a bit buggy. It's definitely playable though. I'll try it with a different power supply, in my brothers computer. I don't have access to another video card that will run this game.

I am trying it on a TV right now rather than my monitor (same resolution though) and it still has some texture issues. Mostly billboards and building windows/doors in game.

You should notice the textures overlapping/disappearing in triangle type shapes at long distances but not so much while close to objects, it could really be BF4 using more than your allocated VRAM as BF4 has been known to use 3.2GB of VRAM more often than you think.

Do you guys see that building texture wigging out? It goes away when I get close, but comes back when I get to the same spot.

There won't be problems. You can use 2gb - http://alienbabeltech.com/main/gtx-770-4gb-vs-2gb-teste...

There wont be performance problems of course but textures are different but honestly it doesnt matter as its not too noticeable if your really immersed in the game so just try to ignore it as its not a big issue and really cant be fixed, its pretty much the game devs fault for it being this way but its not like watch dogs where unless you have 4GB of VRAM the game is choppy and textures dont load and frames drop and so fourth, the only thing you should RMA for is the annoying high pitched sound.

Yup thats just BF4, i think thats it maxing out your VRAM as thats one of the most taxing maps (noone knows why?) but that happens to everyone, go check out Matimi0 and Levelcapgaming on youtube they both get the EXACT same texture overlapping problem and its just normal, nothing to worry about.

Alright. Well that sucks lol.
I'll probably end up rmaing my card for the whine because I'm paranoid. XD
Thanks for you guys' tips! I'm also going to try another PSU.
