Will this EVGA 600B psu support vtx hd 7850?

Hi,

I want to know if this PSU will support my new GPU a VTX HD 7850 1GB.

PSU: http://www.ebuyer.com/630116-evga-600w-fully-wired-80-bronze-power-supply-100-b1-0600-kr

gpu: http://www.techpowerup.com/gpudb/b1235/vtx3d-hd-7850-x-edition-1-gb.html

From what I know, the GPU requires one PCI-E 6 pin connector. I think the PSU doesn't have a 6 pin, but it has 2 8 pin connectors with detachable 2 pin sections to make them into 6?

Will this work? Also I want to upgrade to an r9 270x or something similar after a year or 2 so will this PSU be compatible with that? I've read that those cards require 2 6pin connectors.

If it won't work, then can you recommend something else that will? My budget is under £50 and I think the EVGA 600B is the best one under that price range so far.

Don't know if it makes a difference but I plan to get this MOBO too: Gigabyte GA-Z77-DS3H http://www.scan.co.uk/products/gigabyte-ga-z77-ds3h-intel-z77-s-1155-ddr3-sata-iii-6gb-s-sata-raid-msata-slot-pcie-3-(x16)-d-sub-dv

Thanks guys.

  1. The 600W would be more than enough and when you upgrade to a R9 270x in the future. It would be perfectly fine and can handle it without a problem.

If you plan to save money, then a 500-500W can handle it as well even when you upgrade in the future. However if you do overclock then it would not be enough.
  2. Are the pins going to be ok? And is this a decent PSU or is there something else that I an get for under £50 that will be better?

I think the PSU pins should be fine.

EVGA are excellent manufacturers for PSU and have never heard of a problem of it. :)
