Hey guys, I have a ps4 and a good gaming pc, and I feel I have more skill on console than I do pc (my pc was a recent investment) so if I wanted to get good at PC it would probably mean spending pretty much all my gaming time on PC to get used to the controls, sensitivity and General fell of playing on it and therefore spending little to no time playing console. Do you think that I would be able to go between, if i got good at pc, between console and pc and keep my skill/gameplay high/good or do you think I have to play either one or the other. Anything would help, thanks guys, Adam

It all boils down to comfort with the controls. But it's kind of like riding a bike. Eventually muscle memory will settle in on your keyboard and mice and you could hop between the two just fine.

I own both a PS4 and a PC, and before that a PS3 and a PC, and before that a PC, N64, and PS2... and so forth... Been playing between both consoles and PCs for years and would say my level of skill between the two is pretty even. It just depends on how much time you want to spend on which platform. Easiest way is to pick games you'd rather play on PC and games you'd rather play on consoles. For example, with the exception of exclusives like Killzone, I'd rather play first person shooter's on PC because of the ease of using a mouse compared to two analog sticks. For third person adventure and platforming games, like Assassin's Creed, I'd rather use a controller, because the 360 degree movement makes platforming a lot easier.

Just a suggestion :)  But yes, once you get more comfortable on a PC, it's not like you "forget" how to hold a controller, it just becomes two different subsets of muscle memory really.

I agree with CraigN, once you get the muscle memory you don't really forget. Although like anything, practice makes you better, and if you don't practice you will lose some of your skill. I used to exclusively game on consoles, now I only game on PC, but on the occasion that I do go back to playing on a console it still feels really natural, although I notice that with actions that require finer precision like FPS, it takes a short while to get back to my previous skill level. Same goes for surfing or just about anything.

I also agree that you'll probably find that you prefer some games on different systems due to the control style. Like CraigN I prefer FPS with KB and mouse, but I plug in a controller for third person action games, and playing with a KB and mouse just doesn't seem as smooth.

When you say FPS's do you mean more multiplayer FPS games: BF, COD, CS etc.

Cool but sorry I genuinely don't see the point:

The advantage with a controller is that it is (usually) played on a console which has aim assist :)

However keyboard and mouse I would say are almost twice as accurate (on average) :

So not only would you be playing with a controller that has half the accuracy of the rest of the players you're playing against (on PC) but you would also have no aim assist... :p

Not complaining dude, play with whatever you want, heck you might not even play online (MMO) games :)

Vehicles on battlefield I find easier to drive and sniping too but on cs go I do use keyboard and mouse but on bf, the amount of buttins I need ti remember to get in vehicle, deploy items, etc is too much hassle

I use an xbox controller for certain things too. Especially in games like Arkham, it feels more natural. Clicking to punch and no feedback is just wrong.
