As I said in the title, Windows 8.1 won't remember appearance settings of any kind, such as animations, shadows, fade affects and things like that.
I want all of them to be disabled since I'm using a pretty underpowered computer and those features are quite resource-hungry, but it seems like the OS forgets every change I've made as soon as I log off. The next time I log in, all of the fancy stuff is activated again, causing the system to slow down quite a bit.
This happens only with this particular account, which is not the system administrator.
Is there something I can do to solve this issue?
