Both of them are budget boards.

Mind you, the Z87 one is 100 with 30 discount to a total of 70. The Z97 is 70 with a 10 discount - 60.

I did not find any in depth reviews of the Z97, but judging from the layout and number of visible components, I expect the Z87 to be better and more solid board. I would say the Z87 is the better choice, the 10 bucks are worth it.

And yes, both motherboards will fit in the case.
The Z97P-D3 will support Broadwell CPUs when those release. Other than that, the differences are negligible. The Z87 board isn't worth the higher price, and in fact, I'm surprised it's more expensive rather than less expensive.

Yes, but that's a huge case. You could really get a smaller one, unless you want a small refrigerator housing your PC. :3

Thanks! Just one last thing, are these motherboards any good:
I love the gold colour scheme:

I love it aesthetically, but wont get it if they wont perform as well as the z87. Do you know anything about these board?

Countrary on that, a motherboard does not offer "performance" in the straight sense. A motherboard is the basis for achieving that performance.

The ASrock Z77 Extreme 4 was deemed the best Z77 motherboard in its price range. I am using ASrock Z77 Extreme 6 and did couple of Extreme 4 builds and I can say they are top of the crop in their price range and even a bit up.

Though the Z77 chipset is for 2nd and 3rd generation I processors, while the Z87 is for 4th and 5th (provided there is a BIOS update).

The Z87M Extreme4 there is almoust half a price. Its 63 bucks off, down to 76 (only 5 more than the Gigabyte). It will be stupid not to get it. It is definately the best board you have posted here. And it has a lot of positive reviews. And for the price of 76 bucks - it is a no brainer. The Z87M E4 is way better than the Gigabyte boards.
