Now, my CPU recently has been spiking to 100% usage when idle it happens every 2 minutes exactly, I actually timed it, and this is also affecting the temperature as it is hovering around 60 degrees idle! it does drop down but only to 50 degrees. but the spikes are really damaging regular performance as the PC just stops then carries with it is very visible on games and on Netflix etc. The CPU is an AMD a6-6400k and I really don't know what the issue is. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Open task manager and click on the CPU usage column heading so that the executable using most CPU power are at the top......watch it for two minutes and see what executable is causing it. Do a web search ion what it is.

Make it show.
1. Rt click on taskbar
2. Select task manager
3. Select View
4. Select Show columns
5. Check CPU Usage and CPU Time
If you can't show task manager or anything above your OS install is borked.

I can't reconcile the above statement with the original one
If the most is 15%, then why do you think it is at 100% ???
