Hello community,

I've spent a great deal of time researching parts, and here's what I've come up with. Please help me know if this is all compatible.

Motherboard: MSI Gaming 5 - ATX DDR3 2600 Z97 LGA 1150
CPU: Intel i5-4670k
RAM: G. Skill Sniper Series 8GB Dual Channel DDR3 1600
GPU: 2-way SLI EVGA GTX 580s
HDD: 1TB WD Blue 7200 RPM 64MB cache
Case: Corsair 450D ATX mid-tower

Thank you! I have not chosen a PSU yet, but before calculating wattage I want to be sure the build is compatible.

You're spending all of that money and not getting a SSD for your OS and games? Why?

You have an overclockable CPU, but have not listed a cooling solution. I hope you plan to overclock, and I hope you plan to get a cooling solution.

SLI and Crossfire are still a pain to use. Some games aren't compatible and won't run. Some games get worse performance. Some games crash often. Most games don't get more than a 50% increase in performance. I wouldn't bother with dual GPUs unless you really have money to blow.

It's still a work-in-progress. An SSD is the first upgrade I plan on making. I got a good deal on the two GPU's, so I'm gonna take my chances with SLI.

Can you recommend a CPU cooler?

hyper 212 evo for around $30 for moderate overclocking, very good choice and recommended by almost everyone.

what budget are you working with, if you could get the 290 or 780, they would probably be a better choice.

$30 for the hyper 212 evo seems perfect for my budget. Thanks!
