Not really. ASUS makes the best boards, even the budget ones. You can always get a new board if you decide to do more.

The ASUS has PCI X16, and you can over clock on it.

DONT BUY IT! I have the same motherboard and everywhere i've read they have problems just like me! It really is garbage and not even worth 10 bucks. Find something else, not the m5a97 boards.

Well then you have not had real garbage. How about a MSI 970A-G46 as an example of bad? Or a G45?

The Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P has a beefier power phase, 8+2, as opposed to the ASUS's 4+2, so overclocking will be better, it is mostly black so fits most builds for looks, and has more PCI-E x1 slots if that matters to you. Not to mention two more USB 2 ports.
