Hey guys, I'm creating this thread to see if there is anything that can be done about this other than replacing hardware, hope you can assist me.

I recently upgraded my rig, meaning many of the parts are brand new, so it's highly unlikely that this problem is related to any of the new parts. Here is a detailed description of what happened:
I used my computer for gaming for about two weeks after upgrading (replaced GPU, PSU, hard drive and fans). Yesterday at night, I was playing a game (specifically Dota 2), and suddenly, out of NOWHERE, the screen FROZE and I heard an EXTREMELY WEIRD noise that is so hard to describe, it sounds like it was "generated" by the sound card (of the motherboard). The "sound" soon stopped, but the screen was still still. I pressed the reset button in order to reboot. Every component turned on just fine, but the motherboard did not beep, and no video was shown on screen. Inside the case, the motherboard's red light was constantly lit.

After that, I tried many things, without success, I unplugged the power cable, pressed the CMOS jumper, checked all cables, waited some time, attempted turning the computer on multiple times only to witness the same outcome.

Here is my current build (after the upgrade):

Motherboard: M4A89GTD PRO (ASUS)
Hard drive: WD Green 2TB
PSU: CORSAIR CX750 Series
GPU: EVGA GTX660
CPU: AMD Athlon II X4 640
RAM: 3x2 GB Kingston DDR3 sticks

I googled and it looks like this could be either monitor, cpu, gpu or motherboard. The monitor is definitely working, the GPU is brand new and I don't think the problem is with it (though I can't eliminate that), the CPU is 4.5 years old (same as motherboard) and the CPU fan still spinning normally, and the motherboard looks just fine, but my bet is that something is wrong with it, what do you guys think?

Thanks

Solution
If there's a case speaker connected to the motherboard, try starting the board having only CPU and CPU fan installed. See if getting 1 long 2 short beeps.
