Dear Community,

I have been stuck with the Logitech G5 Limited Edition, Logitech G500 (Gray) x 3... since Logitech kept replacing my broken mouse. I have been doing some research and especially been looking at some top teams to see what kind of equipment they use.

What FPS mouse would you recommend?
I do have a couple things I certainly want... no glossy or wireless mice!

Thanks in advance!

Steelseries Rival. 1:1 tracking, zero acceleration means as accurate as possible. Great grip, easy for claw and palm grip, awesome body that is resistant to sweat. Steelseries have great quality, packaging and amazing software.

teams? do you mean professional gamers? if so then you may want to look at them for ideas however what they use and what is best for you could be two different things entirely.

the most important thing is ergonomics. you want a mouse that is comfortable to use.

pick a mouse size that works best for your hands and grip style.
pick one that has as many buttons as you want with easy to press locations

the deathadder is a good choice for those that like large mice though i personally prefer my older 3.5g model over the new ones. for me this is the perfect mouse shape and size.

the corsair m60 is a popular choice for those looking for medium sized no frills mice.

the various roccat models are also very popular.

the new logitech proteus core i am currently testing out and it has a pretty nice shape and the buttons are easy to press however its a medium sized mouse so i personally find it a bit small. it is however on the expensive side and above budget unless you find it on sale.

stay away from rat mice... they break.

Honestly,

I was looking at the Steelseries Sensei Raw and Steelseries Rival and Razer Deathadder 2013. BUT I've heard that the Sensei Raw automatically has acceleration even after turning it off. I'm not sure that's true or not though. Honestly, I can't really look at the pro gamers since they use what they get sponsored for... but at least I know they aren't crap otherwise the gamers wouldn't perform good.

I've been looking at various styles of grips and I'm not 100% what kind of grip I have. I like the size of my G500... which would be considered big? I think I have a palm or finger grip... since the back of my hand is touching the mouse most of the time.. I guess I'm a palm grip person.

You named all the brands... but what typical mouse would you suggest with those brands?

all current laser mice have built-in acceleration which you cannot turn off. optical mice normally do not have this issue.

i did not name all brands, i only named 3 specific models and suggested more from one other brand. would you rather me give you one single mouse to pick instead of letting you make your own decision by giving you a few to look at?

if you want a large mouse, i would look into the deathadder. personally i prefer the older version but thats my own personal choice.

Aren't the deathadder and rival somewhat same size? or no clue. I will do my research to get things going! :)

yeah deathadder and rival are pretty similar in shape, the rival body is a bit elevated which makes it easier for claw gripping.

rival vs deathadder

the deathadder is wider, the rival is longer. if you like medium sized mice you may like the rival however if you want something bigger you may like the deathadder more. i'm currently using a proteus http://i1.ytimg.com/vi/5IknfkmtdyM/0.jpg which is about the same width as the rival and its sure not as comfortable as my deathadder i'm fixing. on mid sized mice both my ring finger and pinky drag on the mat while on the deathadder only my pinky drags which is a bit more comfortable for me.

the deathadder has a flatter L/R button pad which is higher up off the pad and it slopes back at the rear. this is nice if you like to hold the mouse by the sides and half-palm it by letting the rest of your hand hang of the back. the rival has a rearwards buldge more suited for claw gripping than palming.

of course that is with my own mid sized hands in a semi-palm grip. 7.5" wrist to tip of middle finger, 4" wide palm.

what works best for you depends on how you grip your mouse and how big your hands are.
