Looking for computer help. First time on forums so sorry if this is in the wrong category. I also do not know too much about computers.
__I have a Gateway FX-4710 with Windows Vista that I tried to set up with a Dynex DX-LCDTV19 as the monitor. I could hear the window startup tone, but the monitor just displayed "no signal". The monitor worked fine with my other computer. Both seem to be working properly except just not together. What is the cause of the no signal? Also, how do I fix this? Please reply and Thank you.

Check the obvious first, is the TV set to that display port? Since it is a TV it could be trying to read a single from one of the other ports IE Coaxial, HDMI ect.

(settings on the actual TV not the computer)

2nd easy step connect computer to a different monitor see if you get an image. just to rule out if it is anything computer side. pref a monitor.

yes, it is the right port. I have no other monitor to check the computer with. Would it work to use a laptop monitor?
Also, thank you for replying.
