Dear all,

I installed the Zalman FX100 CPU Cooler carefully following the enclosed instructions. After tightly screwing all the required bolts, I can twist/rotate the heatsink on the CPU/thermal grease. An image for clarification is located here: http://postimg.org/image/sosri23lp/

Could you please tell me if this is normal?

Is this a problem with the thermal grease?

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. The picture is from the manual, with some minor additions by me (arrows, text, numbers).

I have tightly screwed the bolts 1 & 2 as you can see here: http://postimg.org/image/rdacr41c5/

Am I missing something?

The heatsink can be rotated around the center that is indicated by the big black arrow. Of course every other heatsink/cooler I have used could not and this is what worries me.

For the rotation I do not have to exert any significant amount of force; it's like rotating a 330ml beer can on a smooth glass-surface table.

Sounds to me like something is installed wrong for sure, it should not rotate freely. Did you over do it with the thermal paste per chance? is the back plate installed properly and are you using the correct installation bracket for the socket? just some things that come to mind to double check.
