Sonic Mega Collection Plus refuses to start

Recently bought the disc version of Sonic Mega Collection Plus for PC, installed it all fine no problem but after installing when I click Play Game nothing happens. Now I have tried doing this with and without the disc inserted and tried using different compatibility settings but still to no avail. I am running windows 7 and the back of the case clearly states this should work with Windows 7.

Anyone have any ideas?

After you attempt to open it check taskmgr and see if it shows up in there even if it isn't visibly running. Also, check event viewer under windows logs > application and see if anything odd appears around the exact date & time that you tried to run it.

Checked task manager after running it, no application or process in sight. The logs stayed calm, nothing weird seemed to pop up, I'm at a loss really and seriously want to play this game.

Tried running it in windows xp compatible mode?

Yeah, that didn't work either, literally nothing is working and I know I'm not the only one to have this problem before

Here's how I did it: Press the Windows Key and R keys at the same time then in the box type in

Code:

taskkill /f /im MegaCollectionPlus.exe

Then go into the install directory. (Usually C:\Program Files (x86)\SEGA\SONIC MEGA COLLECTION PLUS or C:\Program Files \SEGA\SONIC MEGA COLLECTION PLUS)

Right click on MegaCollectionPlus.exe go to properties > compatibility > Windows XP SP2 > OK then open configurater.exe then press play game. If you get a UAC prompt press yes.
