Hi,
I have a laptop that I recently had to restore due to a virus. Now I have added back some of my top used programs. These include Microsoft Flight Simulator X (FSX). Since I restored windows, I have had problems with my computer not responding and as a result freezing while I am using it. This problem seems to happen in all programs or situations but it is more common in FSX. I had FSX on my computer before with minor issues except for the odd crash or freeze. Here are my specs:
Dell N5040 15.6"
Intel Pentium 2.16ghz
4gb RAM
500GB memory
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit

I have also had long-lasting FSX flights that were 10+ hours with no crashes.

When you re-installed windows did you get all of the drivers for your laptop from the Dell site? It could be an issue with some of the default Windows drivers causing some freezing and unresponsiveness.

Hi All, I tried installing updates and installing dell drivers but it still didn`t fix the problem. I am also experiencing extremely slow shut down times. I launched startup repair today and the computer was scanned. I got the following root cause: "Unspecified changes to system configuration might have caused the problem" Error Code=0x0. After doing a quick google search, I found that this problem is related to system slowness/unresponsiveness. What would the solution be to this problem?
Thanks for all the replies.
