Hi i have a 2GB module ram and installed a 4GB module and format the computer with windows 8.1 64x. The computer only use 3.7 but says i have installed 6GB.
I have a 64 bits windows so it should recognize almost the 6GB not 3.7GB.
The bios is updated and my board is http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P5G41CM_LX/specifications/

Anyone know what i can do to recognize the 6GB or more than 5GB? Thanks

"The computer only use 3.7 but says i have installed 6GB"

I'm a little lost by this statement.....

Programs will only utilize
A) what they need
B) Up to the amount they are limited to by the programmer

If what you have running only uses up to 3.7, then that's all that is required. Most things still try to fit within a 4 GB footprint these days.

If i go to System on windows 8.1 where gives the information about the computer it says it have cpu x and 6GB ram installed but 3.7 usable.
This happens sometimes when windows installed is the 32 bits. but with 64 bits windows it should recognize at least 5GB...
