Thank you for taking the time to read this and help me out,

Ok so here's my problem, I bought all the parts for my build totaling over 1,200$ and I'm not very experienced with this stuff I just knew i could save money building it myself. I looked up tutorials and put everything together.....but nothing works. I plug in the PSU and press the power button on my computer and....nothing. Not one fan will turn on nothing shows me that anything is working except a blue light by the power button on the case. Well what I think the problem is, is that the PSU might be broken, I'm not sure but I think the fan for the PSU should go on regardless and nothing is working. The 8 pin power connector supplied in the psu doesn't match up with the my motherboard except for 4 of the pins. The 24 pin power is missing one pin but that might be normal. The problem is I have no idea what i did wrong and I really need your help guys.

My build:
NZXT Phantom Case (I have no idea how to connect all the fan controllers)
Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming 3 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor
MSI GeForce GTX 780 3GB TWIN FROZR Video Card
Western Digital Caviar Black 1 TB,Internal,7200 RPM,3.5" (WD1001FALS) Hard Drive
Cooler Master V650 – Compact 650W 80 PLUS Gold PSU with Modular Molex/SATA Cable
Samsung Internal SATA 24x DVD CD +/-RW DL Disc Burner Re-Writer Drive - OEM Bulk
NEW 8GB 2x 4GB DDR3 1600 MHz PC3-12800 240 PIN DESKTOP MEMORY

Pictures showing the missing pin on the 24 pin connector and the 8pin not matching
also shows an overview of the build minus the graphics card.

Thank you so much for your efforts, I appreciate everything.

Solution
There are multiple power connectors from the power supply - make sure you have the correct one going to the mobo - you might have the GPU power connector.

I've plugged in both the 24 pin and 4 of the 8pin power connectors and nothing happened if thats what you are referring to?

In the second picture you provided, there is an 8-pin female receptacle on the motherboard, at the back corner, that has no power cable plugged into it. It sits at the back corner, near the end of the I/O shield, behind the CPU cooler. Are you saying that you've connected something to it after you took the picture?

Well there is the 8pin female receptacle, but with the PSU only 4 of those pins match up, as you can see in one of the pictures i held up the 8pin cord and showed the 8pin female receptacle near the I/O sheild, and you can see how the pins don't match

I've plugged it in just 4 of the pins and the 24 pin connector and nothing happens still

I don't think they can split up, it doesn't look like it can split up

Im sure that those are correct, i followed the motherboard manual for it. So are you sure only 4 of the pins are needed

I read this, but only 4 of the pins actually fit, so I plugged them in, I also plugged in the 24 pin connector and tried to power it on and still nothing, I got the blue light though

I don't know if there is a scientific name for the shape of the pins but on the second 4 pin connector its all rounded instead of some square and some rounded
