What is a good cheap laptop to set an external graphics card up on. ideally under $500 dollars for the laptop
is it possible to the mini pci slot that the wifi card is in for the egpu and then just use a usb wifi card for wifi.
how worried do i need to be about the cpu limiting the gpu performance
thanks

There was a gimmicky way that never really took off, the slot itself costs 200 dollars for example.
There is no real way to increase laptop performance, especially with a desktop GPU. Either build a desktop for performance, or invest more in the laptop.

Seriously not worth it. Incredibly expensive for an absolute waste, because the connection is a bottleneck and the CPU will be a bottleneck and the whole thing will be a mess because you need to power the graphics card and have video and connection cables and so forth and so on..

Just build a small form factor desktop.
