hey guys thanks for the taking your time to answer my question.
currently i have a hp pavilion s5503w slimline(i am aware its not a high end computer and my options are limited due to my budget) which i want to increase the performance since school is starting. i am a student so my budget is only 100 dollars. are there any thing i can add to make it faster?

well i noticed that opening programs takes longer than it should, and takes valuable time when working on an assignment. so just wanted to make it a bit faster

so with my current motherboard i can insert the ahtlon x4? i was thinking i needed a new motherboard for that.

also i want to ask you that will this demand more power because my PSU is only 220w and i just recently installed a msi ati radeon 6450 GPU. need to make sure nothing will blow up due to lack of power.

well ssd's take only like 3w so probably nice you could do like a psu upgrade to a 500w or 400w later. the gpu takes only like 20w the new cpu will take like 90-100w and the ssd like 3w.
