Computer keeps freezing during boot up

I'm not sure what to do about this. My desktop gaming PC recently has been freezing at random times during boot up. I'll turn it on, it'll go through the ASUS logo screen, Starting Windows 7 screen, but when I select my profile, and the Welcome screen comes up with the loading circle beside it, it'll just freeze and I have to turn it off and back on.
Sometimes it doesn't even get that far: it'll occasionally stop after the Starting Windows screen and won't even get to the user profiles, at the BIOS screen, or even right after the ASUS screen. Whenever that happens, I get a black screen.
This happens even when I'm trying to boot into safe mode or do the repair option.

I thought it might have been a virus or something so, eventually, when it booted successfully into safe mode, I did a full scan with Microsoft Security Essentials and it picked up nothing. I wasn't sure what else to do at that point, so I turned my PC off and tried again. The next time, I attempted a normal start up, it made it all the way through, but now it has started freezing at boot up again.

This started after the jack for my speaker audio port broke off and part of the headphone jack got stuck inside though I am not sure if that has anything to do with this problem. I'm not even sure if it is a motherboard, CPU, GPU, or OS issue I'm having.

For it to work some of the time makes it unlikely to me that the broken jack caused this. Your swap file might be corrupt though, which could cause this.
Delete your Windows swap file, reboot. If you are using a magnetic HDD, defrag the drive (skip if it's a SSD); then recreate the swap file.

Thanks for the help. But I actually found out that it was my hard drive that was probably causing this. I'll probably need to get a new one and transfer or fix this one somehow but thanks anyway s. :)
