I got a problem with my future build, I didn't notice that the i5-4670k had haswell refresh which meant I would need to change the motherboard or the CPU or update the BIOS on the motherboard.
If I would need to do either of these things it would look like this.
MoBo: ASUS Maximus VI Formula (208 GBP)
GPU: ASUS GTX 780 2-way SLI
CPU: i5-4570 (Possible bottleneck? 137 GBP)
or this:
MoBo: ASUS Maximus VII Formula (250 GBP)
GPU: ASUS GTX 780 2.way SLI
CPU: i5-4670k (162 GBP)
or this:
MoBo: ASUS Maximus VI Formula (with BIOS update. 208 GBP)
GPU: ASUS GTX 780 2-way SLI
CPU: i5-4670k (162 GBP)
The first one is 67 GBP cheaper than the second one and 25 GBP cheaper than the third one, making the first one my first choice if bottleneck isn't a problem, but if it is, is it worth saving 25 GBP by updating the BIOS or should I just upgrade the motherboard to VII?
Even though you have some great suggestions for other motherboards or GPUs etc, please keep them to yourself.
Thank you
