I've been using the Themaltake black widow 850w for a couple of years now,
( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... )
but recently I decided to upgrade my computer with a new Mobo, CPU, AIO water cooler, and of course a GPU. So my question is, is there enough power going to my GPU for proper cooling?
It runs at 30 idle & 60-70 under load. Any help is appreciated greatly.
Ps: sorry I'm not very familiar with Power supplies.

My Specs:
CPU: AMD FX 9590
MOBO: Asus Sabertooth 990fx R2
GPU: EVGA Geforce 780 w/ ACX cooling.

first of all never get that cpu it's two hot and is just a extremley overclocked fx 8350. second did you check if the sabertooth could supply 220w. 3rd make sure you cooled the cpu with a AlO or waterloop. and make sure their some air flow if you can return that cpu and get the better i5 4690k or i7 4790k.

60-70C under load is pretty good for the GTX 780, it's not even close to overheating.

Have you tried increasing airflow? The psu may not be the source of the problems

i think its the cpu thats the problem. what kind of airflow and cooling do you have.

With the 9590 you need at least a 1000w power supply to stay stable.

Your choices for the 9590:

ASRock 990FX Extreme9
Asus Crosshair V Formula-Z
Asus M5A99FX PRO R2.0
Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0
Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3
Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5
Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD7
MSI 990FXA-GD80V2

AMD.COM

Warning: This power draw of this CPU is almost twice that of the average CPU. Due to this, AMD recommends using at minimum a 1000W power supply. For cooling, AMD recommends using either either closed loop liquid cooling or full system liquid cooling.

the lowest my cpu temps have been 4c and highest under 40c.

ok so your on a custom water loop i assume. check the air flow make sure air is flowing out the top/back and air through the front/bottom. Also those temps are good gpu's can go up 90c. If you want lower temps increase the fan speed with evga precision or the software that came with it.

im thinking about returning my 9590 for the 8350. Would it really make a difference in terms of performance, heat, etc?

yes the fx 8350 is 125 or 140w the fx 9590 is 220w which means it blowing out more heat. i suggest actually you get a i7 4790k (338$) or i5 4690k(229$). the fx line is weak and power inefficent these cpus are way stronger yet use only 84w max.

I already have an AMD motherboard, not looking to replace it for quite some time, but perhaps for my next build I'll go with intel.

oh then get fx 8350 it will overclock just as high.

sorry for sounding kind of newish, so the fx 8350 uses less wats, causing less heat to build up in my case, even with AIO water cooling, so in the end it could help my gpu's temperature issues?

yes that cpu was putting out a lot of heat and watts it should help a little but the fx 8350 is just a fx 9590 that doesnt use 220w. less watts=less heat.
