Overclocking a HyperX DDR2 800MHz 4GB RAM memory (2x2GB)

So, here's the deal - I'm looking to get into some overclocking and the first thing on my list is the RAM memory.

Is there any viable way for me to OC the above memory (has 5-5-5-18 timings)?

EDIT: Using a P5Q ASUS mobo, an Intel Q9550 (2.83GHz if I ain't mistaken) and a GTS250 512MB GPU if those matter...

Are you wanting it to game or just as a simple test to see if you can do it?

This is my recommended way: Start decreasing the MhZ by 0.5. MhZ for ONLY one stick of RAM. To ensure that this works, uninstall the OTHER stick of RAM and continue decreasing the MhZ by 0.5 MhZ until the system begins malfunctioning. (e.g. BSOD's, freezing, etc.) Add 0.3 MhZ to the value that the computer started malfunctioning at. (e.g. 783.5 MhZ+0.3 MhZ=783.8 MhZ) Then bring the stick of RAM back to stock, making sure to note the lowest MhZ after adding 0.3 MhZ. Start upping the MhZ of the RAM by 0.5 MhZ until the system starts malfunctioning again. (e.g. BSOD's, freezing, etc.) After that starts happening, decrease the MhZ of the RAM by 0.5 MhZ. (e.g. 817.5 MhZ-0.5 MhZ=517.0 MhZ) That should do it. You might also have to bump up the CPU voltage ang MhZ too.

EDIT: Also do it for the other RAM stick.

Not too much, seems like a VERY old technology, and overclocking is not recommended.

Buy a new Mobo that supports DDR3 and buy some DDR3 4Gb ram, would save time!!

True that!

But then again the CPU is old if I am not mistaken so a DDR3 mobo won't have your socket I think!

So from what I've got from you guys is that I should basically buy a new PC, eh?

Well both, really, but I guess primarily to fiddle around with it (it's time for a new PC anyways)
