power loop using ram slot 3 and 4 on my msi mainboard

hi, i wasnt sure where to post this, so i figured it was a motherboard issue this might b the right place?
i built my pc about a year ago, and from day one i had a problem with 2 of my ram slots, and i was looking to see if anyone could help before i send it on its rma journey.

my build is

MSI Z68A-GD55-G3 Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard
Intel Core i5-2400 3.10GHz
Corsair Vengeance 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C8 1600MHz Triple Channel Kit (i know the board only supports dual channel, it was an oversight when i ordered)
Cooler Master GX 450W '80 Plus' Power Supply
nvidia GeForce GT 430

when i put the 3 ram sticks in i get an continual power loop, doesnt get to post, just on for 3-4 seconds then off again, and repeat cycle. the only time it will power up properly is if i use slot 3 and 4 ( the slots furthest from the cpu)
so i am only able to use 2 of the sticks i have. i have tried all sticks in all slots and all the sticks work fine, mabe there is a setting i need to change or somthing?

any help would be much apprechiated
thanks. mike

ha, never mind i solved the issue, i decided to take the build apart once again to re check everything as i went about putting it back together and noticed 2 pins in the cpu slot were bent right over , not surprised i hadn't noticed this before given the orientation of the pins from my view point.

anyway i managed to bend the pins back to position very carefully i might add.....using a dart (the only thing i could find that i thought might work) and walaa! working as intended! :)

hope this helps anyone else who has a similar problem

    thanks mike
  2. so,you fix the pins? everything ok,now? :)
