Possibly a better build?

Athlon X4 750K is basically a A10-5800K without integrated graphic so its better than the A8

there are actual cheap motherboard which, with bios update, can support a G3258 + overclocking like a MSI H81 P33 (aroud 50$) But there is no way to know if the motherboard will come with a bios new enough to support the G3258

If you were to buy a motherboard which doesn't have the bios for a G3258, you couldn't even use your computer. You would have to go to a custom computer shop and pay for them to update your bios. Or find a friend with a LGA1150 MOBO which is supported by your actual bios .... big risk there. And this is why i went for AMD.

In response to pierrerock I was going to originally get the 750k with this build but thought about getting an APU instead because I would be buying parts a little at a time. But I guess if the 750k is that much better I shall go with it :)

in term of performance, difference would't be so big. A8 5600K is a good CPU for money. It would be slightly outperformed by X4 750K. You could also go for a X4 760K which is equivalent to a A10 6800K for 5$ more.

The real main difference is that the motherboard i suggest will allow you to overclock and get better performances if you ever want to try in overclocking.
